Some people have noted that my fractals are very small, too small to see much detail, use as backgrounds, etc.  Part of this is because it takes me forever to render stuff with an aging laptop that likes to overheat.

Lyc has rendered some stuff really big for me with Chaotica, a fast, clear, fabulous flame renderer that I wish I could use.  Any Apophysis user should check out the latest version on lyc's page/journal: lyc.deviantart.com/

Absence

I will be rather absent online until summer due to school.  I may visit, but odds are great that I should be doing homework instead.  Come summer, though, let the fractaling Fractaling by Zyndara continue...that is, assuming my job leaves me with free time to spare...

This is a tutorial I made quite a while ago and thought it might interest people here.  It's not very polished, but I think it's helpful despite.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe_udS…

When I first started working with Apophysis a few years ago, I had no idea what I was doing, even after following a few tutorials, so I learned by trial and error and lots of randomly moving around the 'magic' triangles. I hope that after watching this you'll be able to move beyond that stage more quickly than I did. You may not suddenly know what to do to make an amazing fractal, but when you are editing a fractal you should be able to use the tools at your disposal without changing everything one at a time, hoping for a certain result.

The topics covered:
1. Manipulating shapes
2. Xaos and weight
3. Color
4. The adjust window
...basically, everything that took me a decent amount of time to figure out. Notable topics I do not cover include rendering, saving, and scripting. I also assume that you can figure out how to move, rotate, and scale the triangles, and other basics. There are many other good tutorials on the web for these. However, I go click-by-click through the tutorial.

I don't know the inner workings of Apophysis so my interpretations of what things do may be overly simplistic.

Hi!

I have been making fractals whenever I have some spare time for the past few years.  I've lurked around dA and have been amazed at some of the fractals here.  I finally got around to making my own account to share some of my images.

Unfortunately, the quality of many of them is not great, since it takes such a long time to render.  Hopefully in the future I will be able to re-render the best ones at a better quality.

Thanks in advance for comments and feedback!
